A tree is known by its fruits
Literally this proverb means that the basic nature or the quality of a tree is come to know after tasting the fruits of the same tree. The taste of the fruit reveals the real concept about the tree i.e. which family it belongs to and what features and nature it has. This proverb is not a botanical implication but teaches us to judge a person by the manner he shows and the character he keeps. It does not means the outer appearance of a man but the real image of a man depends on his behavior. Outward actions and habits are the reflections of the inner character of a man. One’s actions and manner make others to judge the character of him. One’s kind deeds reveals his sympathetic nature, lively, actions reveal jovial nature, sad mood shows pessimistic nature, hares words expose one’s cruel nature, brutality, reveals barbarous nature and so forth. The status of a family is judged by the behavior of their children. The nature of the family whether it is cultured or not is revealed through the good or had manners of the children. As the taste tells us the quality of the tree the manners and behavior reveals one’s identity whether one is civilized or uncivilized.
