They also serve who only stand and wait
This poetic expression says that even those who patiently bear with their sufferings in material life would renter their service to God. While man suffers in life, he forgets god and is reluctant in serving to Him but if patiently bears with them, he would also serve to God. This line is found at the end of John Milton’s famous sonnet, ‘On his blindness’. He was a poet of great talent. He spent fifty long years in studding intensively to acquire poetic talents. He believed that God had sent him to this word to write great poems but he became blind before he was fifty. Because of his blindness he felt much for not able to write poems but he bore with those suffering and consoled himself. Then he wrote the poem. On his blindness’ in which at end he says,’ they also serve who only stand and wait’.
