In many situations when we are in any important call and the call suddenly drops due to poor network. Or if your home is in a place where there is no coverage at all. For this problem two American based firms have designed a cool gadget which is the size of just an USB drive. This gadget can act as a cell phone tower wherever u go. This device is capable of connecting to mobile tower using the same frequencies which a mobile tower uses to connect with a mobile phone. This device is a miniaturised form of a femto cell which is fixed line broadband modem used by telecom companies to provide coverage to areas with no cell phone tower. Its size is reduced by redesigning the main chip. This gadget has the power consumption of 4.5v which can be supplied by an USB connection. When this device is plugged to any computer it will start functioning as a mobile phone tower. It will communicate with the nearby cell phone tower and will also look in the IP address of the internet connection to find its location. This is the world’s smallest 3G base station.
